This was before Oblivion, the physics feel alot more solid then Oblivions marshmallow objects... Every puzzle is based of physics too, instead of some stupid sequence of events to open a locked door, for example, you use real world physics and find a bar and pry the dirty bitch open.


As for this video..

I was planning on making this video of me stalking an infected silently, then barricading a door and some other stuff, but after this little bit, I just turned off the game, scared the HELL out of me! I hope you guys enjoy it, because I nearly shit myself.

Ok, the hand cursor and the pulling objects closer/spinning them around looked really similar to me.

It is, you hold 'C' and move mouse around to spin objects, mouse wheel to move closer/away, then right click to throw (and hold first click to hold an item/switch/etc). Similar to Oblivion, but oh so much more fun. And scary.

The thing with this game is there are no weapons, your only defense is to hide, or run away. It's actually alot more fun then fighting them, tbh.

Yeah the combat in the first one was cool at first, but with multiple enemies it got really hard.

That scene was horrifying. When I was there I hid behind some boxes, hoping that it would just look in and leave. It didnt. It gave such a thorough search that it came within 5 feet of my hiding spot, and I couldnt risk checking to see where he was or my character wouldve panicked.

Still, nothing and I mean NOTHING compares to a scare you get in the first game:

When you enter the room with the giant worm hole in it, and turn the lights off only to see terrifying writing and markings all over everything, with some perfectly placed string music to boot. Scared me so bad I refused to move for 5 minutes, petrifyed that something was behind me, possibly Red coming to kill me for knowing his secret.

Called 'Penumbra: Overture' There is combat in it which SUCKS. This one doesn't have combat, WAY better.

Definitely buy it, it's really worth it, one of those awesome 'under the radar' games like SS2 and Deus Ex used to be.

Oh, I thought it was free.. I must've been thinking of the Tech Demo, maybe..

I recommend playing Overture, as it'll make you understand the story better.
