Ive been getting a strange graphical error on my desktop from time to time which has also happened to me twice whilst playing Natural selection. It usually happens when i switch between application windows but dissapears when i switch back to another window. When it does happen, black and white lines appear over large parts of my screen. I have a screenshot of what it looks like here...

My card is a leadtek ti4600 and im running the latest WHQL drivers from nvidia and have tried re-installing the card and drivers to fix the issue with no luck. I've also cleaned the cards dual fans from dust to check its not overheating but thats not helped either... Is the card on its last legs??

p.s. whats with the 269896 number near the bottom left??

 All I can say is send that mofo back to the manufacturer and get another one.

you might of fried your card, my old card burnt out also last summer

it look like its dead,(if you got wierd distored colors on the BIOS screen and windows loading screen then it definately is) first try installing an old card if you have one and see if that helps, it should work perfectly, and if it isnt, well then your screwed o.0

but hey think of the bright side you can get a new graphics card!and what a great time for competing.. ATI Radeon XT Platinum Edition, or a Nvidia Geforce 6800 Ultra, both cards are merely the same and have the same price $500, both are excellent, otherwise i'll probably go with a Radeon x800 pro $399

ive been with nvidia for damn too long and i want something diffrent thats why im changing with the x800 pro

its a 2 year old card and im also not about to spend more cash on a replacement right now. if anything i would probably just get rid of the PC...

I think that number is the visitors counter for the website :P

It looks like the card is limping, but as TheMagicStick said, you should test your comp with another card, and test that card in another comp.

i get the same number when the error appears whilst in game... I also dont have access to another PC or vid card...

Does your case have proper ventilation? Could be overheating during gaming

Try using an older set of video drivers that actually worked on your computer. See if that solves your problem.

Also, you've cleaned your card fans, but are the fans running on the card?
