My HL2 Plot Theory

dont belive a big war has happened so i will post my idea.

i think that after Black mesa exploded, it sent out tons upon tons of Bio toxins and radiation into the air and it spread, killing off people and eliminating things.

the world ended up slowly decaying with little resources and stuff. The the Administrator of the destroyed Black mesa facility, Dr. Breen took advantage of the chaos and with the help of former surviving black mesa scientists started to create human/ machine hybrids.

These ended up bieng the Combine, Earths goverments and law enforcements were weak and the gas smask wearing combine slowy destroyed world governments and stuff. they then rounded up surviving humans and ushered them into old derelict cities that they numbered.

Dr. Breen set up propaganda screens to convince citizens the combine were doing a good job but even thought the citizens were very opressed. Breen soon relised Earth wouldnt survive in its current state and decided to re open the border world Xen and drop the barrier in hope of using his Combine army to spread into Xen and colonize it.

This however caused chaos, Xens wildlife as i like to call it, I.E the ant lions spread into earth and began using it as a new home, kinda like lions and stuff in our world.

Breens plan hit a snag and Xen and Earth began to slowly collide Inter - dimesionaly. Other Scientists from black mesa were unwilling to help breen achive his plan and fled, creating a sort of underground resistance and teamed up with the Vortigaunts which as you can see from the trailer are not wearing the Green collars and since Gordon killed the Nihalinth they became free. The vortigaunts decide to help the former black mesa scientists stop Breen from colonizing thier homeworld.

Then Gordon wakes up from bieng Cryo freezed. The G -man tells him the world is in a bad state and he must go to City 17. Gordon soon finds himself on a train heading to city 17.

Now i think the G - Man and his employers are a sort of powerful organization and are using the Combine, Aliens and the scientists to take bites out of each other, slowly weakening one an other. Then they go and stick Freeman into the mix to help stir things up a little.

Once all sides were weak they plan to strike and gain world power for themselves, gaining control of xen and a dying earth in the proscess.

Its not the best but its all i can thing is possible.

i dont like to think of race X simply because i thought that they were a kinda stupid idea, just kinda throwing in another Alien Race is just stupid so i tend to ignore them.

I think that the Combine citadel is either Breens Lab OR it is bieng used to destroy the city in order to destroy the Resistance Scientists lab from doing whatever they are doing. I think perhaps that the Scientists are trying to find some way of re raising the barriers between earth and xen to stop breen from entering.

When he mentions Benefactors i think he is just possibly lying to trick citizens into believing they have the backing of a much more capable force that is trying to reshape the world.

and before anyone asks i have not played the Beta, this is merely speculation on my half and its just one of the possibilites and i cant wait to find out what the real plot behind half life is

thats intresting Samon, especially the Hybrid idea.. could be... hmm, but im more in favour to think that the Combine are from the other side of the border world perhaps? in another dimension.. or from an alien world, or are the combine infact race X?. but it could be intelligent machines, that make the combine soldiers from humans.

the soldiers seem to be a biproduct. tools of the combine. but what the combine actually is ,, is still to be found out

There is one problem....

The Nuclear explosion would have vaporized most, if not all of the biotoxins.

Perhaps the Biotoxins but not radiation. But who knows what else the Black Mesa Labs were tinkering with or whatever else could have been released into the atmosphere.

I like the intelligent machines idea which backs up the theory of those machines in the background of the trailer when the G man is talking...

but i dont think they are Aliens or from the border worlds

I think the combine are humans, they can sort of talk .. the voice is wierd because it's going thru the masks. but thier size, anatomy, movement and stuff .. it all seems human to me.

The administrator probably wants aliens on earth to convince the citizens that the combine are protecting them from the aliens maybe?
What does he mean by "it's safer here .."?
Apparently, he is trying to say that we are harsh a bit because we are trying to protect you... but apparently no one is buying that.

yeah i guess that might work, i think its more to make sure no citizens start plotting against the combine, like some of the old scientists knowing ways to stop him invading xen, he wont want that and whatever he is doing with the citadel he wont want inerfierence.

doesnt the Citadel on the new trailer look different to you? it does to me.
