Yep, it's the opposite of burning. My basement is under about two inches of water.

Thanks to torrential rains, it's apparently leaking in through the furnace system somehow.

I dammed it up with some towels as best I could, removed all the water-unfriendly boxes and items and now I've got to wait about 5 hours for the so-called "emergency flood specialists" to show up.

So, I figured you who relish reality television and the like would appreciate a live report from the scene.

I am Mr. Crisis Management!

Ottawa, right near the Parliament. Because of the five-hour wait, I think this must be happening to everyone else too. :P

do you have content insurance?

If you do, get your old computers tv and anything electronic and put it in the basement, that way they'll have to replace it ...just dont tell them I told you to do it :)

rofl !!! too funny...

Mecha-Update:

The water has somehow drained away now that the rain has stopped. The must be a drain under the carpet or something.

Luckily, the house is a rental AND we have flood insurance. The only downside is that I now have to step through a puddle in order to reach my room, and I have to wash all the laundry in the laundry room in order to keep it from molding.

And damn, I so should have tossed something good in there and collected the insurance. Maybe next time! :P
