it was a chilly day in the mid-nineties...the sky was dark with thick cloud and i stood naked in blackpool ...except i wasn't naked...i had on some clothes. that would make me clothed. anyhow, i was with my brother, mum and grandma and just got asked by a somewhat drunk, unshaven fellow whether he could have a lick of my ice-cream. i did what any polite 8 year old would do and started scriking the pier down. he scared me half to death and i think in actuality, he wanted to touch my penis

so...i was strolling along the front, admiring the beauty that was broken bottles of diamond white and watching middle aged men with a figures bigger than their egos trying to chat up petite young women in bars as i passed and noticed the decorative vomit on the path that lay infront of me. as i neared blackpool tower, the anxiety heightened and the fear diminished somewhat

what was that i could hear on the entry way of the tower? it was a synthesised piece of 'dance' music that was so incredibly funky, to this day i cannot shake it from my mind. i asked my mum what it was...she was clueless because alls she listens to is frank sinatra on toast with ham

that brings me to the topic and point of this post...i have made it my lifes mission to find out what this piece of music is and JUST tonight, from memory, i have managed to compile what i roughly remember the main melody to be. it may be inaccurate but it's the best i can do. my proposition is this...i am asking for YOUR help to recognise what it possibly could well be. if you're unsure, i thank you for your time and will continue my quest elsewhere...but if you do know...that puts my soul in your hands and myself eternally in your debt

i could've worded this thread much simpler with about 2 sentences but i wanted people who entered this thread to get a feeling of my epic adventure and join hands with me as we sing christian rock songs in combination with beer and marshmellows

HERE is what i've managed to conjour of the main melody that i remember with creative keyboard

(if your having troubles with the link, you're probably using firefox....try it in internet explorer AND MAKE SURE YOU RIGHT CLICK AND SAVE TARGET AS)

It sounds so familiar but i have no idea what it is.

DAMMIT! thanks for responding though. the sooner i find it, the sooner i can stop listening to ghostbusters 2003 remix by dj marbrax

Doppelgofer I must say, I feel your angst. I too still search for a song that has eluded me. I once thought for a few weeks that the song was "Coldplay - Speed of Sound" but it's not it, close though. I still search, and whenever I hear it again, I will kill to find out what it is.

its the worst thing though because i swear its been about a decade i've been looking for this piece of music and i've heard it about 2/3 times when i used to go to blackpool when i was young on the front door of the tower and once like when tv stations have technical difficulties and they play music whilst they fix the problem. since then though, i've not heard it and have looked on loads of old skool cd's with no luck

to be honest, i find it now or never. i'm suffering a mid-life music crisis at 18

I do feel your pain of not quite knowing what a song is, but... IE? Come on man, you ask too much.

i know the idea of using internet explorer is very harsh and somewhat degrading but i promise you, you'll only come out stronger on the other side....plus you'll be helping a good cause

Actualy, I think if you just post the entire link in a text, then we can C+P into the address bar. Then, painless help. I can't even find IE anymore. I think I deleted it awhile back.

Impossible.

Ah. Checked a bit, and yes it is pretty impossible (at least with XP). I'm just running a Litestep shell and it integrates Firefox moreso than Explorer and IE is kind of invisible unless if I need to run Windows Update. So, I haven't used the beast in many, many months. I'm sure it's around here somewhere...

Right click and save works with Firefox for me.

And nope I can't identify your UMO.

That's kind of catchy..but dunno what it is sorry :(

argh i've heard that before on vh1 in some commercial but i don't know the name... i'll try to investigate

I know the song..

It is.. *ARGHHHHHHHH* (Gunshots)

/me dies.

In a more serious note, I have heard that song before I know it. I cannot put my finger on the name though.

I think I found it..

Is it Chariots of Fire? It has multiple artists.

*downloads a bunch of chariots of fire*

Nooo that can't be it...sounds nothing like the mysterytune...

Once I was in your boat too, searching for a song that I didn't know the name of. Then I found it on YTMND and it was "Escape" by Craig Armstrong. :E

As for the mystery tune, I have no idea.

Any chance of someone sending me this tune? I am intrigued.

I can't get it to save as or play from the link posted. :(

I feel your pain also, I saw some random 80's song on MTV2 with some black woman walking down a busy street in the video. No idea what it was called though.

I had a mystery song but just found it recently; it was "Da da da" by Trio, a forgien group. Simple but awesome.

Ooooo I have a mystery song too!

I heard it from this Top Gear episode I dled and I thought it was neat...I always thought, "THATS IT!!" whenever I heard moonlight sinata, but it's NOT IT.

I took the audio from the episode so you can dl and hear it...you can hear him talkin in back heh
