My monitor is dying D:

This piece of shit has started flickering really dark for no apparent reason, and turning to strange colours every 5 seconds if I open anything that needs any processing power at all. This is what it looks like when it's screwed up:

I don't know what the hell's going on. It seems to do it when I go on YouTube, watch a video in WMP, open iTunes, use MSN Messenger, open Steam chat, play any game, or start the PC. Is there anything I can do to fix it, short of buying a new one? I've changed the refresh rate and updated the drivers but to no avail.

That's bad. You might try to take it to repairing but i'll afraid you'll need a new one. How long have you had it?

About 8 months now, it started doing this probably 2 months ago.

Is it definitely the monitor rather than the GPU?

That's what I'm not sure about. Unfortunately I don't have another monitor to connect up, nor another computer to try this one on. What made me think it's the monitor is that if I do a Print Screen, everything looks fine, and it sorts itself out if I just turn the monitor off and back on again.
