My MS Paint Pic WIP

This is my attempt at Gordan using MS paint. Tbh, i quite like using paint to draw with - over time I've sort of developed my own style with it which I just can't do using more advanced programs like photoshop.

Anyway here it is - I've only really just started it, I'm trying to get the structure of him first- before the details. As you can see I've got a bit to do. Feel welcome to comment and crit -

For some reason he looks Russian in that...don't ask me why but he does. Looks really good though, that fact that its been done in Paint makes it even better.

Thanks for the comments guys - but Russian you say Sparrow? :rolling: To me though he doesn't actually look like Gordon but is only recognisable as him - so I might have to put some more work into his face/head now. Anyway I'm off to bed I'll carry on with it tommorow :farmer:

I think perhaps tis the shape of the head...I don't kow, but looking at the picture just makes me think of Russians

thats really amazing for paint. I love your style- the way you have used a very cartoony style, and the use of light and shade (while not very layered) adds to the effect of the picture.

when using paint, i tend to use a very layered effect, using 3-7 shades of colours usually. heres a pic:

btw, i am bored so i edited the face to make it look more like gordon. tell me what you think

He looks Russian because of his facial structure.

He has a wide face, but not a fat one.His head is all around large too. That's what makes him seem Russian. His goatee doesn't help either.

EDIT: See!! With a thinner head/ face he looks less Russian!

Probably it's the wrinkles or something. The shape of the head and the hair. And he looks kinda old. But still that's the best paint drawing I have ever seen.

Suicide, yours is more like Gordon - like you all said his head is too erm...'fat', gordon's head is slightly longer and I gave him some real chubby cheeks hehe.

I'll think I'll change it a bit, I'll post an update a little later

Okay small update - I started to redo his face and head but I figured it will be better if I did it in a seperate piece - I'm still tinkering. I haven't really added much at all - I've just put in all the details and given his HEV suit a kinda 'worn' look to it. I'll give you another update once i get his whole body done.

Right due to some complications I can't really continue with this anymore. My computer keeps hitting random restarts with the BSOD full of a load of crap - it mentions graphics drivers - but I've had my current ones for a fair few months now. :| Even more bizarre is that fact that I can't be in paint for 30 seconds or more before my computer restarts.

So, anyone is welcome to finish it if they wish, be sure to post your results back to me Sorry it's in jpeg - it wont let me upload the bitmap for some reason.

Hmm ok with some difficulty I managed to finish it - I'm satisfied with it - His left arm just looks slightly demented and he's a tad outta proportion. Ah well, comments please

his left arm made me laugh. looks better now that i see his body.
Right leg is a little skinny, and his waste is wide.(you prolly meant that when you said he is outta proportion, its all good though)
I really like how the upper body, and right arm look together
