I made it completely in Reason, with the Maelstrom device and a bunch of tweaked filter devices.
 
whats a "Reason"?

edit: its a bit mellow for my liking, but mellow is what you were going for, right? :p

Cool, I'm a self-confessed Maelstrom whore. I love that thing because it's so versatile. Can even be used for an interesting filter itself in a pinch. I need to try making a song completely with the Mal - chiptune-esque percussion included. =P
 
Its a reason synth. Reason is a sound studio program with sequencer/sampler/synths etc.
 
I can imagine ComBadger walking away....into the sunset with his friend behind him....

I personally prefer Gigastudio, But that's great for reason... And Giga libraries are a bit pricey........ But the result is pretty sweet... Anyways, anyone that is into composing has my deepest respect... I love the stuff... I've been an avid rock/metal/Blues guitarists for years, and have only been into piano/keyboard for about a year, and I'm lovin it, Keep up the good work.. Oh, and if you don't already frequent northersounds.com, you should if you're a sampler freak, the forums are all about Giga,Reason,Kontact, and Emagic....
 
i use reason 2.5 also ,i love it! one thing that gets on my nerves is programming the drum machine cause i play drums and what takes me forever to program in the software i could just sit down at a kit and jam out no prob. actually the drum maching is extremely limited compared to my real drumming skills. here is some tunes of me messing around with reason. i didn't lay down sequencer tracks it's just me jamming it on the spot. not bad for just messing around learning. one of these days i'm gonna plan something out and lay it down. click me to listen
 
I wish I could afford GigaStudio. I've used it at school before and especially for heavy orchestra strings there's just no beating it. Horrible thing is the horns still sound fake even for a 4+ GB instrument. But since I dont do anything serious musically Reason suits me fine. Iiiiii think I'll keep the stuff I've made to myself though since it's pretty crap.

I totally dont mind hearing other people's stuff. >=]

And on that note, NS do you have any clean webspace to upload those tunes to? I dont want to sign up and install a certificate for a place just for a couple MP3s.

sry bro my webspace is tiny and used up. i'd recommend www.soundclick.com where i have my tunes. they hook you up pretty good for free and even better if you pay. i'm a free user, i think you can have as many tunes as you want but there is a limit on how big the song can be and bitrate. like i said i'm a freebie and one of my tunes is almost 11 mins. and it's 128kbps not too shabby. also people can stream your tunes hi or low bitrate ,they can download them if they wish and it's ok'd by you. and they have charts for all different genres. pretty cool i recomend them
 
please ignore my last post if i misunderstood you, (i'm exausted) it dawned on me that you might have been asking my to host my files so you can listen to them. when i said my webspace is used up i thought you meant host files for you but it's full, it's actually full with my tunes so i'll post the direct mp3 dl links here. i don't think you need to sign up to listen to my shit on the site but i'll put em here just incase #1 just fu*king around #2 fu*king around again #3 1969 (an old layed down track)

Not bad. I like the sound of them I just wish there are a little more notation... a little more theme and melody to em. I do more thematic stuff so I'm a little skewwed toward that.

right on ,like i said the first two aren't planned .it's just me messing around. the third is an old goodie i actually put some effort into. different style though. hmm maybe i'll try my hand at some cinematic stuff and see what comes of it.
