I've gotten a hold of Reason 3, I absolutely love it. So far I've made two small tracks, and I also made an album cover with the artist name Derelict :D

And an ambient tune:

I'm going to make more stuff soon, especially more decent and complex tunes when I further grasp the program, but let me know what you think of this so far. :)

Mission sounds like its from the hl2 soundtrack... i think the music is excellent. make some more, really moody stuff and some happy stuff i can wake up to in the morning and have a smile on my face :) please!!!

Thanks for the comments :)

That first one lullaby is like a more fast-paced version of the Mad Season song "Wake Up" (well.. not really... but kind of... slightly...). 30 sec preview of it on this page: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...002-2730035-7936058?v=glance&s=music&n=507846

Can you create rock type sounds in that program, or is it more for electronic stuff?

You can make the awesomest rock stuff in the program, it's very versatile. There are instruments, devices and stuff for pretty much anything from techno, electronica and ambient to classical, funk, rnb, hiphop and rock/metal etc. One thing that's new in Reason 3 is a big bunch of virtual guitar instruments, some of the electric guitar things are simply awesome, they are identical to the real deal and even simulate the effect of the hands gliding over the strings and such.

Hehe, glad you like it, I'm definitely going to try and make something like that just for you :D

Is the program easy to use, can you just pick it up and make tunes, play around with it? or is it like photoshop... abit hard for the beginner to do anything decent?

I found it very easy to learn, but it takes some time to grasp what all the different effects and instruments do, and especially what you are able to do with them. There are tons of default patches and settings to play with, but the beauty comes in creating your own effects by adding and tweaking filters and such.

You might need to read some tutorials to get an idea how the interface works, but I don't think you should have that much trouble, you just keep practising and you get better and more efficient.

Does this program cost money? :D

I really like the music you made though. Something I would definitely put in my movies.

The Metal one needs to be a whole lot more bassy, Metal needs to shake the room, not be a nice little guitar medally.

If you need any help with music theory, PM if you want. I know a lot about it since I'm taking it this year. Pretty hard stuff.

Nice work with the music. I'm really liking it.
