Something silly happened yesterday morning. I got up as usual, and went for the balcony door to open it to let in some fresh air. But I jammed it somehow, the lock has always been rusty, and I couldnt get it open. So naturally, next I tried kicking it, hard, for 10 minutes. Didnt help, so I stopped and got some coffee.
Half an hour later, my doorbell rings. I check the dooreye, I dont recognize the two persons outside and I think they must be tv-permission inspectors. Those who would make me pay about 1000€ if I opened the door. But they kept ringing the bell and then finally knocked the door and yelled, "OPEN UP THIS IS THE POLICE".
Freaky. They told me my neighbour had seen someone trying to break into my apartment through the balcony door! It's not even possible to climb up onto the balcony to 3rd floor, there's nothing to climb up except a smooth wall. And I was trying to get the door open, not break into my own balcony!
Of course they didnt believe me, it's unbelievable for someone to kick their own balcony door. One of them noticed a wound in my hand, and it was all bloody, I got it when I tried to open the door. They obviously thought I was protecting someone who was beating me or trashing my apartment or whatever. They insisted on inspecting the whole place.
I felt so guilty like I'd done something wrong, even though I know I havent! They asked me over and over again if I'm sure that I'm alone... they didnt even listen to my explanation. There's something about the police, they're so perceptive and when they dont believe you, you just cant help feeling guilty.
But on the other hand, if it really had been the worst case scenario, they would have noticed what was going on.
Well, there's nothing else to this, just wanted to share with you. Finally something happened in my life. And the male police was hot. But the most distrubing thing is, my neighbour is obviously watching me more than I realised. I hope s/he's not watching my every move whenever I dont have the curtains down! Especially when I come out of the shower naked. I really hate this aspect of living in tenement blocks, there's no privacy!
