well im now a member of a band, we arent like new rock or death metal or anything, we are kind of like rush. anyone here like rush? well listen to us. i will send the link of the website when it is up tomorrow lunchtime. so far this is the band:

Me (alex) on bass
Jack on drums
Paul on lead guitar
Caroline on rhythm guitar (status quo :p)
Emily and Becca on vocals
Aaron on keyboard
Matt on any additional instruments and management

quite a big band when i look at it.

speaking of bands, im in one too. We've played alot of gigs in the local barfly and played out of the city in London aswell. You can listen to the music in the link in my signature.

We've played with Hard Fi (new band doin very well, and will be very famous), just as they were touring.

Our style is strange, deffinatly not heavy rock.

hmm listening to it now... good music, it has very good potential and your right it isnt heavy rock :p

my band practiced today and i made a new song for the band. yay me!

Damn, my mates want me in their band but they suck. I mean THEY SUCK. They can't even play a simple powerchord riff =/ They've been playing for a year and I have for 10 months, just teaching myself! Oh what shall I do? :(

(Nice band you got there, WhoKilledFrank)

Thanks alot man, just keep practising, the better you get the more chance you have. Just wait around for a few good talented people that are interested in forming a band. Thats how mine came about.

I think I upset them tbh lol, I was like playing all this various Metallica stuff and they was like 0_0 . They said, "Your good". And ya, it was like a mini gig lol.

If your mates band are crap dont join em, im sure youll find another better oportunity

Shall take your advice :)

i want a metal band - no bands looking or able to form in my area...

And how the hell can we help?

That's cold, man, cold.

Try joining their band, and help them improve.
Don't just blow them off, that's cruel and cold-hearted.
If you're so awesome at playing, give them pointers! :frown:

Beleive me if a band dont have passion or the ability to write good music, then joining them will become very frustrating as your ideas arnt always listened to. Even if they are your mates

Yeh. I'm learning me theory, and I'm writing some songs. The lyrics they write don't have no rythm to it =/

I admit its not easy constructing a song together, in fact its bloody hard. Start composing some guitar first, that'll get you good experince for when your in a band. Its great coming up with riffs, chord sequences and solos and just tab them out. You can easily bring in your ideas then and since they are already written down people can learn them.

What i tend to do is write separate parts eg bass, rhythm, and lead and then bring forth my ideas to my band. Sometimes they like it sometimes they dont when when they do it can really turn out well.

Yarr, I've written a riff already, for rythm and lead :)

I've been messing around with scales and stuff. Can't play write now, I spent like 3 hours playing lol. Fingers hurt

hello its me again :P

www.freewebs.com/judgement90

this is temporary website because we just found some other band in my home city also called judgement. and plus its crap name anyway. oh yeah and the 2 female singers quit :( butr we still have the female guitarist :)

I was in a funk-fusion prog rock jam band In Chico, California for a while but I had to move (Buffalo, NY) and leave my guys :( I have some recordings but they suck compared to what we did live. the spontaneity of what we would start playing at our gigs was the only time we really shined.
If somone could show me where I could upload some stuff I will if anyone is interested.

We mainly did frat parys which were alot of fun. FREE BEER FTW!!

we were a 3-peice, me on bass.
