Nice rig mate!

-How much did it set you back?
-What made you go for the ATI card?
-Do you have it yet? if so have you tried games or benchmarks on it?

Sorry for the interrogation, i'm in the process of choosing parts for my own build.

2100 euros D:

I went for the ATI card because it was downright the best available right now. The 9800 GX2 is out, though, and it beats my card in a few benchmarks (although mine does best in 3DMark06 and a shitloads of benchmarks when you turn AA up to max). But the current drivers are highly glitchy, and I occassionally get artifacts, but performance is gradually increasing with each new release :)

Crysis gives me around 40-50 FPS I reckon @ 1280x1024 with everything maxed out at DX9. Goes very, very smooth.

Stalker gave me shitloads of artifacts after some time (but I'm using an early version of Stalker, so might not be the drivers), regardless of heat.

Just about to try a HL2 mod, Empires :)

Right, I got like 80FPS min, 200-ish FPS max @ 1152x864 with everything maxed out at DX9.

It's a great PC. But it seems overpriced. I just put a better pc together to make sure, at an
online store in Holland that costs less then yours. Mind you as far as I know we in holland
have higher taxes so it should be more expensive then in our southern province where you live.

edit forgot the PSU, it come's out more expensive but is better.

Why is your Q6600 at 2.13ghz?
That's a good question. Could be dropping the multiplier automatically for power savings (like cool&quiet for AMD chips). But I'm surprised it wouldn't drop it more if that's the case.

266.66MHz bus X 9 multi = 2400MHz (2.4GHz)
266.66MHz bus X 8 multi = 2133.33MHz (2.13GHz)

Yeah, it kinda differs. When viewing the "My Computer" properties, it's 2.30 Ghz.

Also, prepare for driver instabilities when you go for the HD3870X2 or the 9800 GX2, it's really new technology and some games will occassionally crash

Wahoo! A HD3870 um... believer...

I would never have gone for the X2, though. It's just too big :p
I might get a second, though... one day.
