My new single player map

Hey guys this is a new map that i have under construction for half-life 2 :naughty:

Anyway, that looks great, very moody with the orange lighting in the corner :)
 
by the way why did you move the topic to the same forum?
 
Looks good!

Only suggestions I have is to add a sprite or env_glow to the ceiling light, and make the pipes have 12 faces instead of 8.
 
yeah i guess that would be a good idea but the map laggs enough already (too good:naughty:)
But i will add that glow
 
Those changes shouldn't affect your FPS that much.

Also, you should learn how to optimize then, because that room in itself should have fine FPS.
 
no thats just one room... i almost have a whole black mesa going on :naughty:
 
Nice. Can I suggest you turn on full anisotropic filtering on your card before screenshots? The textures on that panel on the far right are all blurred with the bi/trilinear filtering you have on at present.
 
Mapster mate, how long did that take for you to create? Thats great work, I'm trying to create a similiar map, based loosely on Black Mesa, a military facility underground and the Xen aliens get loose. But creating a massacared canteen area, with tables, chairs, dead bodies, etc is giving me real trouble.

Again mate, nice map.

It is on full anisotropic... or do i have to change that in the options menu?

I spent a few days on the room.. but i had a bit of help with the detail of te pipes and so on.
Did you nead a bit of help for your map?

yeah, I like it......nicely done.

In one of the first rooms you have a stripped combine in a tube.....now I can never make them appear when trying to use them in a map.....what entity name do you put it under? prop_static? prop_physics?
 
make it a prop_ragdoll and the model is the stalker model :naughty:
 
i believe you could use a ragdoll with perhaps lengtconstraints connected to it? could make something cool with that

i think you have to use a ragdollconstrain for a ragdoll :thumbs:
 
looks alright...my map/story driven sp hl2 map is coming on great.

i will release screens soon. going to be 8 levels.

i have constructed a whole town...;)
