Meh.

My harddrive was messing up (clicking and then freezing my whole system, had to manually shut off) but I don't have the money right now to blow on a harddrive. So, I took everything out of the computer a blew it off with that canned air stuff. I put everything back and viola... everything was fine (weird).

But my soundcard wasn't being detected or something (I wasn't getting sound) so I went to the website and downloaded the new drivers. Bla, bla, "must restart for changes to take place." I restarted. But when I restart I get a black screen saying "the following file is missing or corrupt" and then it names and windows/32 file. Whatever. So I'm pissed.

I try to repair with my Windows CD, that took 25 minutes. Whatever. Anyways, I get my computer up and I'm happy. It was running really slow (it didn't detect my video card so new drivers for that) so I restarted. Now, it freezes during the progress bar while Windows loads or I just get a black screen. NOW my CD drive doesn't detect the Windows CD... eh... I'm so depressed.

So, overall, I need a new harddrive, CD drive, power supply (failing quickly)... and I have no money... like... $100.

[weeps]

That sucks, I just installed my HP Lightscribe DVD-R drive today, everything went smoothly. If that makes you feel better...

But yea, that always stinks, but on the bright side, those are generally the cheapest parts to replace.. Hell a good CD drive wont cost much at all, and a small hard drive won't drive you up too much.

Well My computer is breaking too. My sound card isn't being detected (Though I can still hear WMP music and CS/CSS sounds), so I need to reinstall drivers for that.

Also my Network card isn't being detected (Though it still sends and recieves information to and from my router and works in general). So I can get on the internet, but my router thinks I am an UNKNOWN user, and so doesn't let me connect to say my sisters shared folders.

And I'm even more broke than you :P

If your soundcard isn't detected by windows then WMP and CS:S shouldn't work?

All you need to do is replace the broken CD drive, do it before it shorts out your Power Supply, I lost 3 power supplies because I didn't know what the problem was, turned out it was my 2ndary drive.
