my RAM is 224mb

and in the minimun appear 256mb

so my PC cant run CS:S and HL2?

It might run it, but not in a playable framerate.

you mean that will look very slow framerate?

Whats atcaully going to happen is your hardrive will be used for for storing data instead of your ram.....Im pretty sure you are already experiencing that if you use winXP.

So you will have slow map loading as well as choppy FPS whenever your comp has to use the hard drive during play.

You might be able to get away with min settings in 800x600 or 640x480.

good question sidewinder: 224MB is a VERY odd number, for memory.
either we have a shared memory issue, a deffective memory module, or some wierd config i aint never seen before!

is this DDR-SDRAM memory or regular SDRAM?

PC1600 to PC3200 and up is DDR SDRAM
PC66, PC100, PC133 are regular SDRAM

Sounds like he has an onboard graphics controller thats using 32mb of his memory. The original Nvidia nforce motherboards with the onboard GF2 MX graphics cards used 32MB of system ram that it reserved for itself. If thats the case and you have another graphics card installed in your AGP or PCI slot then go into BIOS and disable the onboard graphics controller. This should free up the extra 32MB of ram.

my video card is 32mb

whats whit that?

and what are the things you recomende [Matt]? (I sucks in computers)

I had another FPS that dont look so paynfull slow like other games

what is your motherboard? and are you using onboard graphics?

yes (I think) I are using a onboard graphics

the video card company is S3 graphics

thats the reason why you dont have a full 256mb of ram :)

dont say that... im running doom3 on a P4 2.0 ghz (256 mbs) FX5200 (non Ultra) and im still cracking at like 25-30 constant unless something with a whole lot of lights and movement comes on.. like a big genorator...

the smilie means "no problem"?

no it means ive found the problem for you... if you get a cheap graphics card such as a 9600 pro you will have the full 256mb of ram once you install the card and go into bios to disable the onboard video.

that s3 definiately wont run CS:S even if your 224mb of ram will
