Well soon ill be buying a new computer, and i want to be sure that i can have broadband on it. My current computer has a router that is connected to my brothers laptop, and one of my playstations. I want to be able to use an ethernet cable (thats the kind the router fits) to put into the back of the new computer. Is there a port for this, so i can use broadband on my new computer?

Or do i have to buy some kind of adapter for the computer to get broadband?

Sorry for double post but..

Im asking becuase i thought that maybe the port comes standard on computers, but then again i not sure so i could use some help..

Both Cable and DSL connect to a Modem first. Then they connect to the router via RJ45, Cat5/6 or Ethernet. All names for the same thing. It will work and no adapters needed.

So when im customizing my computer and the selection for a modem comes up i should pick either RJ45, Cat5/6 or ethernet? cause none of these selections comes up, it has (for example) PCI 56k V.92 FAX MODEM w/ VOICE

Or do you mean the network>> it has ONBOARD 10/100 NETWORK CARD AS DEFAULT

ONBOARD 10/100 NETWORK CARD AS DEFAULT

Use that one, 10/100 refers to the speed that the ethernet port is capable of. Just get a cable from the computer to the router and do the right configuration and you are good to go.

edit: ah, Asus got in before me.
