Hi !

I have a big problem. I buy Half-life before 1 year. But I never play this game over steam or won because i havent a internet connection. But now I have internet connection. I try register my Half-life game over steam. But steam tell to my: Your CD key has been already registered to other account!. WTF? I have steam first time. I never registered Half-Life before. What can I do? I dont want pay money to Valve or Sierra. Its not my mistake. Please help. Thanx ;(

go to www.steampowered.com . The official Steam forums are there. You should be able to get some kind of advice there,. however, there may be nothing you can do, as it may be very difficult to prove. Why would you come to a Half Life 2 webste to post this?? If you're interested in Half-Life 2, just buy the Silver pack over Steam, and you will get the original Half-Life with your purchase.

have you ever loned your game to somebody els? a friend or something.

Bullseye -> no, i dont borrow games and i havent brother or sister
JPack -> i dont want pay its no my mistake

Its not VALVe's mistake either. They cannot help when people make key gens. Just spend like $10 for another copy.

Buying HL2 over Steam would be the best option. That way you get everything.

(And you were going to buy HL2 anyway, werent you?)

Problem solved!

what you do is send your cd key to steam through mail and they will reset the account for your, takes a while but in the end it will work.

DiSTuRbEd -> you think its my misteke? I buy this game in to shop!

vegeta897->haha 50$, i live in Slovakia! In this country is 50$ to much. In Slovakia 50$ = 1600 SKK. We are getting pay only 10 000 SK and that is 315$ per month!!!

VodkA-HLC--> please give me mail where I can mail to Valve or Sierra thanx

You got the link in the first reply in the thread. Go to the steam forums. This is a legit problem that people have and they will help you. However you may have to send a upc code to valve or something, I'm not sure how they do it exactly. Considering your location this might end up costing just as much as re-buying the game unfortunately.

On the other hand, considering all these people here with fresh back-catalogue accounts on steam, it might not be too hard to convince someone to give you their old hl key. Don't ask me tho, I'm not santa claus.

JFry -> I try registering on steampowered.com forum but i must be authorized by admin ;(

To all : Can anybody help with CD-KEY? If somebody has old CD-KEY pls send me it on [email protected] thanx

Erm, you can't ask for an old CD-KEY. It's illegal. Two wrongs don't make a right, y'know. And, yes, you may complain, but that's the way it is. I'm sorry.
Go to the Steam support pages and look it up there. It's tells you EXACTLY what to do. Or alternatively, if you can't be bothered even with that, just look up the email of one of the VALVe team members who will put you in touch. But please, look it up first.

Kirkburn->

Unfortunately, Sierra (not Valve) double printed some CDKeys. Only Sierra knows which CDKeys were duplicated.

VUGames is the parent company of Sierra - the publishers of the games, and printer of the CDKeys. They are a different company from Valve.

If you purchased your Game more then 90 days ago, you will be unable to get a free replacement from Sierra/VUGames if you have a duplicate CDKey.

Is that fair? I dont want pay money for SIERRA mistake !!!

You have to send your jewel case and cd to VUG (local HQ) and they will send you a new HL 1 CD key. Happened to me, mine was stolen at a LAN party once.

Bios->

As I said, look it up on the Steam support pages. I know all about the SIERRA/VU cock-up, one of my friends was affected, thank you. Also, thanks for trying to make me look stupid, but as I said, get in touch with VALVe and *they will point you in the right direction*. VALVe know of the problem so can help in such matters :)
But I can understand your frustration - my friend was lucky enough tto get his copy more recently (in fact I bought it for him!). Hoep you can get it sorted somehow.

I'm giving him my old Steam account...I don't think it's right that someone has to pay money for Sierra's screw up.
