My Sniper Scope has only one vertical line, no horizontal intersecting it

Ok. On the regular scope, its a giant + right? It has a vertical line, intersecting with a horizontal line.

Mine only has ONE vertical line going down it. No horiztonal line to create the big +, thus making sniping quite impossible.

I sent help to Valve but ofcourse they havent replied yet.

I went to the steam forums and those jerks love to reply wityh such helpful comments as:

"Dont snipe then"

Im hoping this forum is much better
 
umm, that's odd... try turning off anti aliasing or changing your resolution, abye it's being "anti aliased out"
 
Heres a screenshot. Also my anti-aliasing is off and no changing resolution wouldnt do anything.

lol darn that looks bloody anoying

the 1st thing that came to mind other than playing with ur settings was download eitehr a custom crosshair or get a friend to send theirs
 
rofl, hey ukraineboy, remember me, Drizzt. I play on the server the all the time. I saw the SS and i'm like wtf, there is Mitt playing.

anywho, i would try and get a custom skin, but maybe you would have to re-install the game, but thats a huge pain in the ass.

too bad its not 1.6, there were so many skins you could have got.
 
Ok if anyone knows the name of the file that IS the scope, please do tell because I could get a friend to send me his.

And suprisingly there is not a lot of skins and models for CS:S as there was for CS. CS Downloads and CS Banana are the only places ive found with skins for download.

also I already reinstalled the game, still didnt work :(
 
that's messed, it'd drive me insane....other than that...I have no clue how to help you :p

you tried to delete the texture file forcing steam to redownload it?

I'm not getting...why not? What? You mean you actually use your computer for stuff other than CS: S. Whoa, you must be a productive guy...
 
Some CS:S players done that before,making a little dot in the middle of the screen so they don't have to use the scope,sounds really stupid to me. :x

People do that in tons of games with no crosshairs just to get an edge on their opponents. They take a little piece of tape in the middle of their screen and put a colored dot. If you need to do that, you need ****ing help.

anyone remembers Jungle Strike? I used to tape little pieces to mark the fuel tanks, ammo boxes and health kits position on the map
 
HAve you tried a complete re-install of Steam? You said you re-installed but I'm assuming you just meant counter-strike. I was having problems with centered text not showing up in HL2 (chapter titles, saved messages, etc.), the only thing that fixed it was re-installing Steam (and I installed it to a different folder, not sure if that was neccessary though).
 
I have reinstalled numerous times. Both steam and CS:S.

No I am not drawing the marker on with a felt pen, lol.

And no cl_crosshair 1 doesnt do anything.

This issue is still not resolved :(

Maybe because I dont care what others think and I play this game for my own enjoyment and part of this enjoyment is sniping, so if you dont like it, tough.
 
Since none of the changes you have done so far have helped, you could try re-installing your gfx drivers, or trying another version of gfx driver than currently installed. Probaly wont help but I would at least give it a try, if only to narrow down the options to find the problem.

There are like NO skins for CS:S out, or barely any. Let alone custom crosshairs.

if someone made me a custom crosshair I would thank them greatly :imu:
 
I think it was mention before but I didn't see you respond. Turn AA(anti-aliasing) off and see if it works. Your AA maybe filtering out the horizontal line. If that don't work you may have to get someone to make a custom crosshair for you, I'll look for one....


EDIT: Sorry man, I can't find any custom crosshairs :monkee: You can always ask one of these fine gentlemen to make you one http://www.halflife2.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=10
