I was wondering if there was anything I could do to diagnose or possibly fix the problem. I have a sound blaster live! sound card... it's super old and I've never bought a new sound card. My speakers are also very very old, but they've worked beautifully for me for over 6 years(they're older than that even).
The problem has started cropping up recently. I'm using basically the same drivers as I have for the longest time, since I can't find any more updated ones. Certain applications like games sound just fine, but when I'm listening in audio players that's when it really starts becoming noticeable. I have been playing the portal end song and it's especially noticeable in that, as well as my other music.
Ideas? Suggestions? Unneeded criticism?
