my system finnally came!

well yesterday i got all my parts (see sig...except 9800 pro) and i decided to put it together. All went well except i had troubles setting up my hardrive, but after awhile i finnaly got it going and installed windows xp.

I also had very mild problems putting on the arctic silver 5 and attaching the heatsink. I got scared because i had to re-adjust the heatsink and i smeared the paste abit.. but once i powered up i found that my cpu temprature was only 35c, and i knew that it takes awhile to break it in.

right now my comp is up and running fine except i have 2 concerns.
-my smartgart shows that my agp is off, but my half-life2 runs flawlessly..does this mean that it is most likely on but doesnt show up in smartgart? is there any other programs that will let me know if its on? oh and i checked the bios but it showed as auto and was read only, so it wont let me configure the agp...

-also is there by chance any programs that might scan my system for incorrect hardware installations? as this was my first custom build i may have accidentally not connected the power switch led and the hardrive led...if not im sure i can figure it out by a rise and repeat type of cycle


besides all that im pretty happy with my first build, its just i dunno im kinda paranoid that i might have done something wrong...but i guess alot of people go though that.

are you referring to the LED's on your case not being connected properly, if so I wouldn't worry about it, they don't have to be installed or anything, they just plug into the motherboard to show activity or if the system is on. If you have got them set up right, then thats fine. As for the smartgart settings, i would just leave them, if the card is performing ok, then just leave them. I think they can cause system instability if you get them wrong. I'm sure someone else can instruct you on the smart gart settings too.
