my tittle text wont work

i followed the tutorial on wiki to change the title on my mod from saying half - life 2 to saying my mod name and i change the clientscheme file so that it uses arial font rather than hl2 font but when i run my mod it just comes up blank does anyone know why this is?

I got this too, I too have no idea why. I inserted a custom font and listed it in resources, but it still doesn't show up.

I made the resource file read-only, and the settings were there, even when the mod was running. So obviously they must of missed something in the tutorial.
