my uncle wants a desktop for $600

he wants to play Games on it,one being the new Blackshark flightsim.
I did my best and the one I put togther on newegg came out to $530 before adding the Vid card




Can any of you throw togther a build that doenst go over $620?

oh yeah AMD builds are preferred but if a Intel build is going to be bettter/cheaper so be it.

Didn't find anything from review sites regarding benchmarks for that game. Although this forum post suggests the video card doesn't need a lot of memory (512MB ok) and that it doesn't use more than 2 cores. Also uses just over 1GB of RAM so 2GB for the system would be OK.

A semi-fast intel Core 2 Duo would work best and either a Nvidia 8800gt/9800gt or ATI 4850 would be OK for that game.
Nvidia usually does better in flight sims but things change. Since there are no benchmarks for this game across different cards/systems I can't say.

AMD CPUs are cheaper but they are a bit slower and use a little more power. Especially the dual core AMDs. The Phenoms (3-4 core) are different chips and compare a little better but still not equal value as the Intels.

Are you talking a full system, or does he have a monitor, case, keyboard, mouse, etc? If he doesnt have a monitor, then you're pretty much shit out of luck. Otherwise, heres what I put together if he just needs a the components.

The PSU is slightly more than you need, but if it were me, I'd go for it anyways because having more than you need lets it run more efficiently, and Corsair makes some rock solid PSUs that wont **** all your shit up or burn out. I always go on the safe side with power supplies. Plus its 60 dollars off right now, which is like 40% cheaper than it usually is..

Thanks man I still kave my old g15 Keyboard so he can have that,and I'm sure his mom will buy him the monitor for Xmas.
