no it will run in sli just fine. if your worried about the pci-e 2.0 spec then dont worry because all it adds is more bandwidth(which the 8800 wont use) and allow for more power to be transferred to the slot then the pci-e cable..

I head that alpha dog has heat issues, not godd for me my room gets really warm. maybe Il stick with an EVGA 8800GT, but I really wanr the best 8800GT there is

how can it have a different heat issue then any other 8800gt? like every 8800gt has the same stock fan. also im getting tired of the xfx naming schemes; they are getting ridiculous. i mean i was ok with the XXX but ALPHA DOG EDITION????

it has a bigger stock fan actually and if its got higher clock scpeeds then its not the same as all other 8800gts

SLI is not worth the money avoid it like the plague. A single 8800GT will do you fine but even so Nvidia have the rev2 8800GTS and whatever other cards springing up around Jan 08. Also good man choosing a Corsair PSU you simply cannot go wrong here, great quality product and provides all the power you need. Often than not the PSU is the most overlooked part of a computer system.

I agree about the PSU BUT not the rest. In Jan 08 yes there will be bette cards but they will be more expensive, ALOT more expensive. So I rather get 8800GT and play DX9 games until this time next year, when I will decide to go onto DX10, by that time the 9xxx series should be cheaper

Exactly the 9k series which will push the cost of the 8k series down a bit. I always stay one generation behind the mainstream with video cards so I'm stuck waiting for the 9ks. On another note "play DX9 games' I'd write that as "Play Games in DX9" because Vista makes me cry in my sleep.
