my xfx 5900 got fried i wasn't overclocking it or anything, just playing halo demo on medium settings, any idea why this happened cause i dont want the same thing to happen to the replacment one?

is your case cloged with dust? hows goods your cooling? my computer zaps way hot when running old games like starcrap and diablo 1 but i duno on halo... mabee the fan just broke on your card now i gtg and shiz brb l8r

sounds like the desperately-needed fan stopped working, which can mean your PS is going crazy-go-nutz over the added pull, your fan/heatsink got clogged with dust, or you already have cooling issues that you need to sort out. Check the case out! Bring cool air in, take hot air out!

Yeah, I've had fans die on me as well. Today I bought a 9800 Pro to replace my Ti4200 that was killed due to a fan randomly dieing :\
