Stonehenge was built as a dance arena for prehistoric "samba-style" raves, according to a study of the acoustics of the 5,000-year-old stone circle.

That's kind of a downer, innit? I always liked to imagine it was an alien landing marker, or an old leyline teleportation site, or a place that housed ancient druidic mysteries.

It's just a big rave circle.

Wow, pretty awesome how knowledgeable they were with regard to acoustics.

Yeah, it's interesting how certain sounds are amplified and some are subdued or even drowned out with proximity to the circle.

A rave circle for aliens.

Seriously though, that's really kind of cool. I kind out doubt they got very accurate readings though, considering they were working with concrete and concrete being more dense than those Welsh rocks and all.

I'm more curious how people 5,000 years ago, with no modern technology, were able to build that.

Yeah, it's especially impressive considering the distance they transported the stone.

who says they were people?

Honoured druids! Gelloc, of the tribe of Fair'nuiile in Wales has challenged us for leadership of this tribe. Let the Dance-off begin!

Lame.

Stonehenge use to be cool when there was a possibility of nude pagan rituals taking place at it.

As it turns out it's just a nightclub circa 3000 BC.

The reptilians now known as Queen Elizabeth I and Boxcar Willie were responsible.

Goddamn licentious reptilians.

Now all the old archeologists and historians will no longer have any interest in stonehedge, "Oh, well, I have no time to visit a place where people had raves 5,000 years ago"

Yes, it will be covered in neon spray paint within the week.

Doubt it, not after the Battle of Beanfield :)

Listening to loud music and getting drunk is a long ancient tradition of these isles.

Imagine this.
Stonehenge, Mega Bass Speakers, Disco ball, Rave lights, DJ, HARDSTYLEBEATS.
Oh yeah

Being a crazy pagan rave circle is only a secondary function of Stonehenge. It has well over a hundred astronomic alignments (if you stand in a specific place at a specific time and look over a specific rock and see a specific constellation or the moon or whatever you can tell that it's the solstice, or equinox, or shitloads of other things). It's basically a huge calendar.
