%n bug for Cracked version of CSS

so, the %n bug still works on the cracked versions of CSS right? and everyone who paid for their copy has the fix off of steam. So, according to this logic I bounced around a few servers with "%n00b" in my name, and about half of the people on every single server had the same response we used to have before the fix, they timed out. every server I went to many many people got kicked, but some stayed. what does this mean? are there really this many cracked versions of css floating about?

Yes, unless some people haven't bothered restarting Steam in ages, or disabled updates...

i go with %n in my name all the time, and in some servers [14 man with about 10 ppl] 5 ppl timed out

as a side note, I have found that since recent patches, Warez cs:s users have garbled mics (and retail mics sound garbled to them)

really? that could be another way of finding them now. Cool one.

On a side side note: The patches have found to have backdoor Trojans in them, which send off to an FTP site run by EMPORiO, which downloads more viruses. It's quite funny isn't it how people want a fix but get lots and lots of lovely spyware

I'd love to see some evidence of that. No self respecting warez group would ever sabotage their subscribers.

Maybe, maybe they would put a backdoor in for their mistchevous purposes,. but viruses? Highly doubtful. Sounds like anti-warez propiganda.

Anyways, as VALVe continues to switch things up, it certainly does get easier to tell whos who. VAVLe could definitly pull some nasty tricks,. lets hope they do!

Actually you wouldn't have thought it f|uke, but there is because I browse these CSS warez forums to keep up with what patches are out (I emailed Gabe it's URL but he hasn't shut them down), and there was this one idiot who installed it and it totally went onto screw up his computer. Maybe it was so bad because he didn't have any of windows updates installed except SP1 haha.

Yeah, I mean theres nothing to stop a legal company impersonating a FTP run by a WAREZ group realy... its more than likely anti-warez folk just faking the name and such like. On the other hand I wouldnt imagine a legal company givin even warez users virus's as THAT is against the law.

Totaly agree about tricks VALVe could pull in the long run, it WILL be fun

I totally ruined people's gaming last night. On every server I joined, 5-10 people timed out, and people flamed me for doing it

Right..... Well then, things only get better....

First of all I joined a server and two guys got kicked, thats good I thought, doing my bit for man kind and all (Piccys below)

31 out of 32 player server and this happens when I killed the last T and restarted the round:

you just ruin the game for everyone when you do the %n exploit, we all now a lot of people use cracked versions, but let them for **** sake, I always have to change server when morons do the exploit cause I want to play on big servers and after tehe %n there's always just few people left... annoying as hell

the good news is people with paid for copies now can get on a server they could not previously because people who had pirated copies of CS:S had stolen their slot.

whenever someone comes on and does the %n bug (when I have been playing anyway) it fulls up as fast as it was emptied, maybe you just have bad luck?

in my experience the only person who's game was ruined were the people who had no right to play it in the first place, but as I said, thats just in my experience.

You have a point that sometimes the server does empty but at the same time it fills up faster than they leave when I play

It doesn't stop folk joining no. I don't know for sure how it worked before the patch but warez'ers only get kicked when you kill someone or die.

P.S. I know theres no way to convince you that I didn't use the %n thing before the patch but it sure as hell p***ed me off. I just like getting back at folks that steal good games. This esspecaily rings home for fans of Maddox software (IL2 etc), like myself. Warez are really putting Battle of Britain at risk of not being produced because previous games were warezed so much.

no, but as soon as the %n is broadcasted (aka you kill someone, or you die) they will time-out.
