N. Korea requests International Aid.

I wonder what will come of this...After the aid has gone and things are moving along again.

Don't know. At least Kim Jong Il isn't pointing fingers at any of his enemies about this, throwing threats and the like.

It would seem those who "will turn out as one to mercilessly wipe out the aggressors to the last man."(Kim Yong-Nam) aren't as bad as they thought.

Did you read the part about two independent explosions? Seems kinda of strange that a power line would be allowed to touch any train, especially trains carrying TNT.

Lets hope we can give them all the medical supplies they need in time.

bout time those commies asked for some...

Well, as long as it's only medical supplies. Those comies need to get rid of their nukes if they want anything else.

Oh, I thought this thread was about kool-aid.
I didn't read carefully.

N. Korea requests International Aid. :O

it's like Iraq :stare:

It is odd why they would suddenly have a change of heart and ask for aid when before they were simply too proud to even accept any even when they were offered it.

Well 3000 is a lot of people, and even if they did wanna cover it up they wouldnt possibly be able to.

ferd...how is it like Iraq?

Well...Still a lot.

and my point was really about how fast the news seemed to come out and the satellite photos that sprung up.

Very true, but in the past there was a huge famine and many countries offered aid and food to those people who were hungry. North Korea refused the aid and several thousand people died of starvation, so its not like they care whether the rest of the world knows.

heh, it also turns out that up until now North Koreans elsewhere in the country never even knew about the train accident since their government controlled media never reported anything about it.

N. Korea Accuses U.S. of Preparing Attack

Actually, Kim Fjong II, I dont think you have anything to worry about. :)

  • The North's army is the world's fifth largest with 1.1 million soldiers.
  • Might have nukes (at least WMD)
  • On the same continent as Vietnam (;))
  • Missing the black gold

ZomeZing tellz me people are not to keen on invading N. Korea. ;)

The reports lately sound like it was a WMD going off. Now, they obviously don't hid the fact they have weapons, but they're a Communist country and wouldn't admit to such a blunder.

Chinese civilians reported seeing a towered mushroom cloud from 10 or so miles over the Chinese border. That's a bit far

It took quite a long time for the cloud to disappear.

The blast leveled about 400 ft under a quarter mile, they said about a diameter of 1,200 ft. That's bit much. I know what they say was in those trains, but I doubt it.

The Aid workers said that N. Korea had already cleaned up the bodies and I believe they said the train too. So, even though the North only reported so much, I bet there were more casualties.

And for Kim accusing us of wanting to attack, that's f*cking rich. They're the ones that just threatened to wipe out all Americans.

From the amount of chemicals and potentially explosive things, that sounds about right actually.

WMD? I strongly doubt that..

When Petcom (they make some compound for rocket fuel) blew up in the US the biggest explosion (there were 4) left a mushroom type cloud after it.

Same with the Japanese ship Yamoto, the cloud left after the explosion of the ship almost looked like one from a small nuclear blast.

There was a similar accident in the Kanada in 1917, two ships collided, one was loaded with explosives/ammo.. The town (Halifax) in around where the ships were was largely wiped out, several thousands of people died.

That was the largest man-made explosion ever until the atomic bomb was developed. The explosion was so powerful that an anchor from one of the ships involved was found several km's inland, from the harbour.

The Mullinator: Yeah :( 2000 people dead, I wonder how many are dead in Korea.

Been gone for a while, haven't been able to comment.
That makes sense. The reports continued to get muddled and change, one minute it's gas, then Petro and TNT, then it's TNT and TNT, now it's Petrolium and oil.

I think its safe to say someone was having a joke when they filled that train..."I know, lets see how many different kinds of explosive material we can put on these two trains... and then ram them into each other."

LOL! Yeah, that sounds like something any of us would do, too.
It all makes sense! :P
