Recently building my port folio and my art style. Here's some drawings I did for other people, kind of like their personality in a simple stick figure.

These are all done by a mouse, since I can't afford a palette on my 16 year old salary :(
I also did this for my mother's birthday; which she was quite impressed of.

Any crits to be had, challenges? I'd love the feed back of course.

These are my absolute first try at digital drawing, and I can say I'm enjoying it -A LOT-.

Your style's really unique. I kept thinking it would be really suited to some kind of illustration purpose like greeting cards, and then after seeing the birthday drawing for your mom....I still think so.

The only suggestion I can offer is that the drawings might look a little more lively if you brought in more complementary colors when you do your shading. It's sort of apparent in the third drawing, where the highlights and shadows look to be just black and white, or maybe some dodge/burning (which I don't reccommend.) The drawings are pretty simplistic, so by using yellows, dark reds and purple colors to shade, I could see it being more eye-catching.

Yeah, I'm usually shading with a 9% opacity and running through like water colour. I was looking at your artwork last night Kaptain H, (Which is really good), and it's really apparent in your Rosaline picture you take on the more harder colour, oil tone look. Don't get me wrong, I would love to try the harder colours. But I'm not the one to experiment with my art, just ask my art teacher D:

Any suggestions how to, I'm currently using photoshop as well.

I agree. You really stand out, which I would assume would be the hardest part for an artist.

First tablet drawing, this things quite tricky, but I think I have the hang of it.

A WIP I'm working on.
Isn't much, but enough to keep this thread alive ;D

The shadows may look weird, just picture it with a black background which it should have ;D

omg I just realised where your avatar is from. I love you.

I like it lots,

but since you're looking for more constructive comments, I'd say that maybe your work is a little too minimalist, I'd try to add more elements and more work.
But it's just a little weakness, your work is cool. Do you have a website?

Woah! I totally didn't recognise your avatar until I looked at it again :O

Do you have a website?
No

Thanks for the constructive comment :D I've only just started with these, drawing for a month on the computer, but for a life time away from it.

WOW fantastic artwork.

There really are striking..great stuff.

Delicious, though I think there's something slightly off about putting the dude there.

I noticed it was odd before, but I'm pretty sure it's because the way he's weaved into the banners :>

:O

It's um... something... with something... which I remember... from oh so many years ago!

:O

Inside joke... only Zephos would get the real meaning. :p

You should be one of those people that design shitty overpriced birthday cards and the likes. :p

Who knows, I may never need to touch a tablet again in my career.
Graphic Design is a bloody broad choice.
