NASA space shuttle launch soon

awesome. first shuttle launch in quite a while!

Cool, love seeing the old beast going up.

Hope it all goes well.

I'm sitting here listening to all the people talking and doing system checks, and I'm just waiting for one of them to go "Alright chums, let's do this! LEEEEERRRROOOYYY JEEEENNNKIINNSS!!".... that would make my day...

coolies, I'll watch this, although I suggest they may need to equip energy shields! for good luck.

The hold will last for another 15 minutes before they start the countdown clock. There is another possible time hold at 31 seconds, but if they do, it'll only last about a minute.

Anthraxxx = the guy at launch control :P, announcing it on TV whilst posting on HL2.net simultaniously D :

It's the final countdown?
We're leaving together
But still it's farewell
And maybe we'll come back
To earth, who can tell?

I guess there is no one to blame
We're leaving ground
Will things ever be the same again?
It's the final countdown...

We're heading for
Venus and still we stand tall
Cause maybe they've seen us and welcome us all
With so many light years to go and things to be found

I'm sure that we'll all miss her soIt's the final countdown...
The final countdown...
It's the final countdown.

Tell them to hurry up already!

They are going to crash/explode.. I don't know why, but I sense it.

rofl, imagine, T minus 10 seconds... 9 8 7..

6.. and a black cat walks across the grass in shot.

1 minute left in the time hold till the coutdown begins. w00t!

When I lived in Fort Walton you could actually see the shuttles launches with your naked eye even though it was hundreds of miles away.
Pretty cool beans.

"To deliver critical thingy stuffs" apparently, and test omgasms for safety and whatnot.
He made it sound very much not exciting.
Typical NASA nerd.

The International Space Station. Edit. Bah. Too slow. You guys answered before me.

That was a good launch. I was happy to see that the patch work that they did on the main fuel tank did hold up throughout the whole trip to space.
