I had a all in one Epson Stylus CX3810 for about 3 years. It started giving me printer head troubles just months after buying. Blockages, white lines etc.
Cleaning the heads was a pain in the ass.
Well, i finally lost my temper and bashed the ****ing thing to pieces.
I never had such constant issues with my old HP printer. I Am never touching this **** brand again.

I need a new printer now. Any suggestions are appreciated. Preferably a All-in-One with refillable cartridges, low maintenance and under $200. Thanks.

I had the same one, started spouting blank pages. I got another of same brand (different model). It's been better but I do feel I'm wasting ink, especially with that cleaning nozzle crap. My HP never does that. but I did find cheap ass cartridges on ebay so I guess there's one major money saver. (Can't find any for the HP)

Get an HP Deskjet, I've had the same one for about 3 years now and only changed the cartridge like 2-3 times now. its awesome, and i haven't had any ****ups with it. as long as you clean it once a year it works fine

Or you just but a laser printer if you print alot, these things easily last 15 years.

yeah a lot of printers should come with the ink now if you're smart. and if you all ready have the usb cable then thats fine, but some do come bundled with them.

Yeah, this one comes with USB cable as well.

For a moment I was tempted to get it, but I reconsidered since I already have a Canon flatbed (larger scan surface) and a Lexmark Printer/scanner and I've hardly printed anything in the year I've had it. It's kinda poor quality color printer TBH.. I don't know.

I can't remember the model number of the Canon, but maybe you could try walmart.com if you are interested. I doubt it's just a local thing. Seemed like a good deal

But I'm glad Warped posted the reviews. For some reason, it never occurred to me to read reviews of printers.

HP has been good in what I've owned and used.

Dun know what is the most ink efficient though.

HP's are the best in my opinion, especially the 4680. Cannons are a good alternative, just stay far away from Kodak.

I wouldn't recommend Epsons for normal home use. Not because they are bad but because of the useage pattern.
They have the print head mounted on the printer instead of on each ink tank. So if you use it a lot (think small business volume) they don't clog. But if the head get itself clogged then the printers done (usually if you leave it on without printing and low printing volume with turning it off/on etc).

Canon's print head is not on the tank either. But the head is a removable part so you can buy a new head and not a new printer if you want.

HP has their print head on each tank. So you are getting a new head when you switch out your ink. But that is not needed (heads should last a lot longer than that) and I know it used to make them a little more expensive to use as well.

I've got a Canon MX850 when it was like $200. (this one replaced it but isn't quite as good)
They have a ton of good printers. Probably their most popular ones are around $100.

I like HP deskjet printers (even if I will often pick a top loading Canon over them). But I hate HP photo printers. The paper, their style of pigment based ink.

I needed a printer fast so i shopped around the retail stores here and decided to go with a Canon PIXMA MP620. It's quite, consistent, it prints and scans fast and the ink heads/container is removable. All those things were absent from the Epson printer. So, it's definitely an improvement. The ink seems to be reasonably priced but there's plenty of generic brands out there that are even cheaper. Hopefully, it'll last me a bit longer than piece of crap that i sent into oblivion. Anyway, thank you all for replying.

The canon's seem to be a good choice, I'm actually buying an all-in-one printer / scanner / copier thing this week, and from my research kodak are to be avoided, epson & HP are good choices, but everyone loves the canon's available. They get the best reviews by far.

So I'd say you probably made a good choice. I'm livid how much cheaper these items are in the US :( For £100 ($162) I can't even get a wifi enabled printer, they hike those up to £150 ($243). I'll just have to set up file sharing again...bah
