Well this morning i started a torrent before going to work and my PC was working just fine. But when i returned home i found my PC had BSOD and my Hard Drive was making an awful sound. So i restarted my PC and my Hard Drive was still making that noise and Windows was saying it couldn't access files and there was a fault with the Hard Drive. Now i keep getting i/0 errors and scandisk keeps saying i have bad clusters. So now i'm trying to backup a load of important stuff but it won't copy due to the i/0 error. So what do i do? And is my Hard Drive already dead? it's only 5 months old. Please guy's i could do with all the advice i could get, i have a lot of important coursework on there that i really need.

Ok well my Hard drive seems to be working fine now, the files that were damaged during the crash are still gone but Windows seems to be able to access it normally again. It still occasionally makes some strange noises but then goes back to normal again, so is it safe to continue using it or should i replace it.
I'm not sure if this was a one off issue or a sign that the drive is dieing.

Make a backup of everything important on an external harddrive as soon as possible!! Then replace it. No need risking loosing stuff unnecessary.
