Need computer problem help!

My comp is screwed. The internet is funky. WHen you click on internet explorer, it takes about a minute to open the window, and sometimes doesnt open at all. can someone tell me how to fix something like this.

Get rid of spyware/adware.

get spybot search and destroy.

Download an alternative browser (FireFox for me) and see if that'll fix the problem.

If not you can always reformat as a last defense.

this is my families computer, they use Explorer.

FireFox does not delete Explorer. You can use them at the same time. If FireFox has the same problem than you know it's not IE and it that case it might be you connection.

One the other hand, if FireFox works perfectly than you know there is something up with IE.

untill i can find a solution for Internet Explorer, im using firefox, which is working nicely. but for some reason the avatar gifs are super speed....

Yeah you should definitely have better performance, that's a good comp you have there. I don't know, you said you've scanned for spyware/adware and viruses, maybe you should reformat? Or do a disk cleanup. It'll make your comp just like new if you reformat. After I installed my new mobo I reformatted and it's much faster. Btw, what's you video card?

Yep, most likely you got some weird insidious IE bug. After I got mine for the fifth time I said **** it and switched to FireFox.

Dude, Opera doesnt suck. What are you talking about, paying for it? I just downloaded it from their site, never had to pay anything.

You can pay for Opera if you want, but all it does is get rid of the ad in the top right corner that you never notice. I just found a crack that removes the ad.

Really... You people rather go get a new browser then fix the initial problem? DAMN that sucks. You people are doing something wrong. I had that "slowness" when I got sasser (Along with my new PC), but that shows by multiple lsass opening and closing in the process manager.
