I'm the leader of Spade, a WW2 mod. Oh no, not another WW2 mod! don't worry, I'm doing things others don't have the balls to do, and I'm going to go out of my way to make sure this is going to be the roughest toughest son of a bitch whoever themed itself on WW2.

However, I need a website. I've been through about 5 webmasters, each of them has bailed on me. When it gets to the point where they're out of contact for months I have no choice but to cut them. Without a website you just get laughed at and mocked in the modding community and your mod is called bullshit that'll never get off the ground.

This means I need not only a talented webmaster, skilled in Flash, web design, and possibly graphic arts, but I also need one commited to the mod who won't screw off after accepting the job or completing a rough template. Sometimes one that's not even what I asked for.

Please, for the love of God, if you think you can take on this job, please do. But if you take the job, finish it. Don't just bail out while I and what team we have at the moment is waiting on that website.

So, if you want to take the job, just email me at [email protected] with some samples. You'll be welcomed in the team, but just don't abandon us. If you want out of the team, say so, don't drop off the radar, it just holds up the team for weeks or months.

What makes your mod "the roughest toughest son of a bitch?"

Well, I don't think any other mods are using that line, so, I guess it is.

Since when? I actualy give more respect to a team who doesn't rush to get a website before they have content to fill it with :)

Actually going by what 2ltBen was going on about in the good old days, he knows his stuff, and this is one to watch :)

If you say so Captian Badheerr!

website is afunny thing,, I personally wouldn't join a team without one,, when someone lays down the 200-300$ to get a domain and hosting, it shows they mean business

Speaking of TEAMS, get on IRC.

I layed down about $10 for domain and hosting, save the rest of that cash for more important stuff.

I plan on getting a domain sometime in the future, but I'm not going to spend the money now and just waste it on those monthly fees when there's nothing to show. And 63, I'm not giving away everything now, but keep in mind this, ever since I learned how to script in Hammer, I've always loved things that just make you sit there and stare in awe. And in Spade they probably won't be scripted all the time ;)

.....not another WW2 mod

PLEASE NO MORE WW2 MODS

DOD is Enough!!!!

DoD Source is crap compared to most WWII mods out there, all it is is the same old thing on Source. Don't get me wrong, DoD's a great mod, but it's just to deathmatchy for some gamers' tastes.

I really shouldn't be posting this here, but I have a few HL2.net spoilers.

The HUD
Or rather lack of one. The only thing visible on the HUD will be the locational health meter, since that's obviously something a soldier would always know unless the adrenaline took over, but that'd be rather hard to code. Maybe later ;) This will become slightly morphed in the case of medics. If a medic(not decided whether they'll be playable or NPC) gives you some morphene, you won't feel as much pain, if any at all. Mind you, you'll still have the actual damage done to you, you just won't feel any.

There'll be a few hotkeys to check your status though. One will be to check clip/mag count. You'd basically have the player "feeling" his ammo bandoliers and have a rough estimate of how many the player has. Holding the button will remove the magazine after checking the bandoliers to show depth, if it's a stripper clip weapon there's not really anything you can do. The estimates will be shown as text that fade out after a while, or until the count is modified(so the ammo count will fade out if you fire a certain amount of ammo, which will vary from weapon to weapon). Of course this can't be done on some weapons.

There will be a navigation system, done the good old fashioned way. Pressing a button will take out a map, either in a case or folded up, that the player can check. There will also be a button for a compass, and pressing that button while the map is open will put it next to the map, but this means you'll have to be crouched and not able to move. Using the landmarks on the map and the compass the player can orient himself. No more 1943 GPS.

I might consider helping you out. I'm apretty decent graphic designer, who's very capable at making animated flash based websites among other things. I'll send you a PDF of my work soon if you want?

Ok will do. Sorry for the late reply, I'll send you a PDF of my work to that address, only problem is it's about 1.5 meg. Can your hotmail handle that much?
