Need help buying a UPS

After numerous power surges here, I've decided I want to buy an uinterruptable power supply. Problem being, I have no idea what I need, can anyone help?

I have a 450 watt PSU, running a Radeon 9700, 2 HDs and 2 DVD drives. I also want to be able to hook my monitor up (17" CRT) and have it not lose power in the event of a power surge.. not looking to set my hub/cable modem up, though, it's in a central location no where near my computer.

So anyway, any help would be appreciated. Point me in the right direction here

I'm interesting in advice here as well.
I do know that there are two main types of UPS'.

One is always on, charges the battery and runs your PC/devices off the battery so the line is always clean.This would be the type that is perfered.

The second turns on after it detects instability which may be too late. It runs your PC off the line and not the battery. The battery is turned on when needed so you may have clean power.

I have no clue what is a good brand, price or what else to look for but it would be useful information.

I reccommend antec true power or an enermax, they are of the highest quality. 400W or higher should be fine for that.

Not PSU, UPS...Basically battery backup and protection from brown-outs. I would like info here too, as with the money I've put into these things it really wouldn't hurt...

I guess no one has any real knowledge regarding UPS' here =( I'd hate to take a shot in the dark and buy a bad one.. can ANYBODY help us?

I've seen a lot of reviews on the Belkin Universal UPS 800VA (infact here is another).
I know the basics about the two types of UPS' but I do not know what type each model/product is.
I guess the key to finding the right one is knowing what power it can handle.
It seems 620VA is ~390watt and 800VA is ~450watt. What you put on the UPS has to be under that.
