need help down loading half life 2 errors

i get up to the 3rd cd searchs c:\programs\valve\steam\steamapps fileits searching for is : base source shared sounds.gcf then says error 1305 error reading file verify that the file exist.


how do i get over this and start this bluddy game its been 2 days i have had this game and not been able to play it.

need help.

Had that happen to me the first time I got it.
It's a bad copy of the game...
Take it back to the store and exchange for a new one.
