NEED HELP GETTIN HL2 TO PLAY

Hello everyone. Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but... How do I get HL2 to play? I installed the discs, all 5 of them as it told me to do, one after the other. Now when I click on the desktop shortcut for HL2 all it does it bring me to the Stream store where it asks me to buy the game I just bought and installed, it has no option to play anywhere. Can someone please help?

Where did you buy your copy of the game?

I'm assuming you bought it new, then? Did you enter a CD Key at any part of the installation process?

Alright, well perhaps you need to activate it then. If you open up steam, down the bottom left of the window will be "ADD A GAME" http://i.imgur.com/jBAtB.jpg

Click this, and then click "Activate a Product on Steam"
Follow the prompts, enter the CD Key that I really hope came with your copy of Half Life 2, and the content of the game should unlock and become playable.
