hi all, ive been recommended to overclock my cpu as it will give me performance boots, now i know that its ok at 3.2ghz, but i with to overclock it WITHOUT!!!! damaging my computer, can somone plz post how to do this, ive looked online and i havnt really found a good site with a guide.....also with i require any extra cool or fans? thx

20% overclock is safe, anything above is time to start watching temps etc.

if you wanna watch temps and stuff
search google for motherboard Monitor itll lell your cpu temp and alert you if it goes too high.

ok thx for that, my motherboard has a built in over clocking feature, i tried it on 10% gain, and it couldnt even get to the sing in screen, thus unstable

Might just be the wrong combinations of multiplier + FSB.

This hardware/software forum section has a overclocking guide sticky.

Cool haven't heard of that application... I'm going to try it.

There is no 100% safe way of overclocking, your best bet is to read up on the methods and buy some better cooling before you start.
