Need Help installing

have a big problem sorry if this is not the right place to post or what ever. Okay I just bought the game yestorday and didn't know much about the steam thing that like you cant even play it offline till after you regester so i do that but when it say i think somthing like updating steam somthing or other that gets all done but i could sill not play it said offlinemode not yet ready. so i clicked on the tastbar icon of the steam thing and went to monitor and it was only 98% done but the small one already finished and i uninstalled every thing and started over but the same thing happenned again so whatam i missing

Delete the ClientRegistry.blob in your Steam folder.

I don't know what to do!!! I will describe the problem to you I dial up then I click on half life 2 icon then a small green screen comes up and says connecting to steam farcry01 then it is connected so i go on the monitor screen on steam and it says 98 percent i left it there for 30 mins but nothen happened it is not like it is loading i think i click the the 98% and another screen pops up and says blah blah blah offline mode not avalible 98% but nothing is loading. So i can't even play my freaken game aahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :angry: :angry:

yes and now the moniter says 0%
