I have a 9800PRO 128MB video card made by ATI. I have been lowering my video card settings for Source games and the BF2 demo. So I decided on buying a new video card. I wanna get the RADEON X800 256MB XT PLATINUM EDITION. My power supply is at 200W and it requires 300W but I don't have lots of other stuff sucking away the power, so I'm good for power. What I am mainly concerned about is the size of the card. I have one of those "small form factor" computers and my 9800PRO just fit it in. Barely. So I need to know if the card is no bigger than 7 1/2" long by 4 1/2" wide. And I need to know when to get this card. Because ATI is putting out some new cards soon and I thought the price would come down considerably. Thanks for any help! :smoking:

Hmm may have some problems with teh size of the cooler on the x800, also its gonna get hot in there, I know those SFF pc's aren't the best for ventilation. And I may be wrong with this, but aren't the PSU's for SFF pcs really expensive? I would imagine a 300/400w one would be pricey.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm gonna confirm the size by sending an e-mail to ATI. And for the power supply it should be okay. My card runs just fine right now. And by the way I have not overclocked by video card. Who wants to waste $300+ on a fried video card?

I need to know a good place to get this card. Newegg.com doesn't have the card and the rest of the sites offer places like BestBuy to buy it from. And when are the prices gonna come down? Thanks! :)

Yeah I saw those. But I wanted a card built by ATI not powered by ATI. But it is cheaper and their is no difference between the cards. So I'm gonna pick this card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814161128. Stupid ATI support sent me back an e-mail not even remotely close what I asked for. I asked for the length, width, and thickness of the card and they responded with where to find specs on their site. So I sent out another e-mail so I'm waiting for that. My main question right now is when are the prices coming down? I have $120 right now saved up for the card. And working at Jiffy Lube is making $400 scarier every day. So if you know when the prices are coming down please tell.

my friend had an x800xt running on a SFF shuttle on a 230v psu so you should be okay...

Damn! I can't get the platinum edition because it takes up two slots! The card requires a PCI express slot. I have 1 AGP slot and 1 PCI slot. So now I have to get the Radeon X800XL 256MB. This one is $313 so thats a better price. Does anyone know when the prices are coming down for video cards?

You really should get a better PSU. I just can't see a 200w power supply running an x800 without problems. I have a 350w right now and I'm planning on getting a 480w before I buy a x800 or x850.
