need help please

ok, i bought used hl2 today and i am not able to play it. everytime i try to give my cd code steam keeps telling me that the code was already in use. i know it was already in use, but is there anything i can do?

You bought it from a retail store or a person(like ebay)? if the latter, youre screwed.

If retail, return it.

You'll need the steam account name and password from the previous owner.

lol haha u got ripped off there buddy theres no way u can buy hl2 used unless u get the account name from them

If you have 1 account registared with the CD Key on your computer you can create another account using the same one, as long as you have your old account login info on your computer. Thats if you get the owners Username and Password and you want your own account.

aw, that sucks. well thanks for the reply's. luckly i can return it to the store, anybodyhave any feelings on doom 3? it's another game i've been wanting to play. i heard it got kind of boring after the first level though, any input?

I'd recommend HL2 over Doom3, but then again, I'm posting this on a HL2 fansite.

well i'd rather hl2, but i can't afford to buy it brand new and he place i got it only does exchanges. ;(

I hear that Doom 3 is a great experience, but a bad game. It's supposed to be hella fun your first time through, but going through it again, you notice that all the horrible game cliches, the mosters that come to life the second you touch that health packet, that invisible tripwire that opens a monster spawn, that kinda thing.
