For some reason my computer isn't detecting either of my CD/DVD drives. It was fine before dinner, but now it won't work. They aren't listed in My Computer, and for some reason, the top drive won't respond when I press eject. I at least know the bottom drive is on, it's ejecting and stuff. I haven't installed anything at all, I dunno what happened. Help!

Try restarting and see what happens. If that doesn't work, try a system restore.

If the drive doesn't eject when you hit the button, I would shut your PC off unplug the power from the back of the drive inside your PC and plug it back in. Same with the ribbon cable.

I did system restore, nothing happened. But I did fix it, but in a wierd way. I ran Stinger to make sure it wasn't a virus, and while it was scanning I played a game. But at one point the game got really slow (I probably shoudn't have played while scanning but I was bored) so I just turned the computer off. When I turned it back on it worked. So I dunno if that fixed it or if it cleaned a virus and I didn't know cause I turned it off before I could see the results.
