Need help with a flash website

I've had this template on a disc for sometime now and I finally started editing it for my band. I cannot figure out how to change the text in the News and Song and Lyrics thing at all. I've been trying for hours..

Everything else (pictures) had to be changed in Flash. I kept looking in the flash file and couldn't find a place to edit the news and stuff. I also tried the HTML and PSD files.

The thing that makes me think it needs to be editing in the swf file is that all I have uploded currently on the site is the swf file and an index file (and style.css)

So it's gotta be in the swf file right?

I'm a newb when it comes to flash and this stuff.

you cannot edit a swf file ..you can try a decompiler but they're a mixed bag ..you need the .fla file which it sounds like you have ..look in your library ctrl-L, search through your movies (it has an icon that resembles a movie reel) or look through the timeline ..should be there ..btw what's the css file for? are you sure it's linked to the flash file? if so, it could be in that file ..open it with a text editor find the appropriate text and edit the tag ..it should look something like this: {font-size:12px}

Yes I got the .fla file. I looked in the css file. (It's there for the backround and stuff I think?) I'm looking through the icons.. I did yesterday too but I don't understand how the news can be in the icon things?? I'm confused.

Ok I found them. They are in the fla file like you said

I can see them but I can't figure out how to edit the text. How do I select it?
