Need Help With System and HL2

Hey Guyz , im in a crisis...ok hereare my specs

p4 2.53
512mb ram pc2700
Msi Motherboard
XP HOME SP2
3D mark 03--5904
Now heres the Problem....I Have a 9800pro in my hands and installed it works fine and Smooth. EVERTHING runs amazing BUT im thinking of returning it to best buy and get the 9600XT WITH HL2. Y u ask well beacause i really cant afford to buy HL2 and keep the 9800pro. What do you guyz think? Should i Give it back and get HL2 with 9600XT which ill overclock OR Kepp the 9800pro and ill try my danmed best to get HL2? also whats the performance ill be missing.

So Will i be able to run HL2 on the 9600XT and at what settings and res(same question bout 9800pro :E

Keep the 9800 pro. Im assuming that your a kid and might be able to swindle your parents a lil bit to help you out? I mean making 50 bucks aint that hard.

The 9600 will be out of date much sooner than the 9800, but it will server just fine for HL2 (depending on how you like your framerates).

If I were in your shoes I would wait till you could scrape up the $50 (eat eggs for a month, that's what I do when bills come with red ink).

Hey yah i noe but is it normal for the 9800pro to get SO HOT its way hotter than my current 9200 lol its Hot :burp:

Define hot, mine runs about 72 Celsius when Doom 3 is on (9800 Pro).

Hot as in When i touch my plexi glass case on the side its like holding a warm/hot warm cup of coffee or when u have a cold u drink some warm lemon juice lol buyt its not not wear u burn your self lol oh its as hot as a cable modem mabey a little colder

Ha, ha, priceless. Download a tool called ATITool which can give you much more accurate temp of your videocard if you are concerned.

Start the program (duh!)

Click on setting in the bottom right corner.

From the drop-box on top, select temperature monitoring.

Select measure temperature and then also select write temp to log.

Play a game for a couple of minutes (or do something that requires your card).

Go to your ATITool folder and open the log file, it should display the temepratures.

Omg then y dont i have it ....... i have the 9800pro 128mb 256bit memory MADE BT ATI ....... HOW Y ...what do u thinjk could cause this ..NOTE****** i took out my 9200 and put the 9800pro in WITHOUT uninstalling old drivers...but i dont have ot there the same right?

lol Lazicsavo i noe that it doesnt say moniter temp for some reason :\ I think its because when i switched Cards i didnt uninstall the drivers but i dont think i have to am i wrong?
