ok so heres the deal....

i whant to upgrade my computer "CPU, RAM & Video card"
but im not sure if all i have chosen are compatible with my mother board.

My current Spec:
CPU: AMD Duron 800MHz
RAM: 256MB DDR Kingston
OS: WindowXP Home Edition
Video card: Diamond Stealth s60 32MB"ati radeon 7000"
MotherBoard: ASRock K7S41GX "Full Motherboard spec"

and here is what i would like to change from what i already know.

First i shop at Tigerdirect.ca im from canada and thats the only one with cheap prices.

CPU: AMD Duron 1.8GHz
RAM: 512MB DDR Kingston
Video Card: Chaintech XGI Volari V3 128MB

just for anyone who is curious of how Half-Life2 show on my computer here are some screenshots:

First of all, how much are you willing to spend? And those upgrades you chose besides maybe the ram aren't worth it at all. Tell how much you're willing to spend and I'll find much better upgrades. And there are cheaper sites.

wow that looks preety nice for a radeon 7000 and u really need a big upgrade molex or w/e u can afford and arent xgis worse than 7000 or is that a voodoo 3 i know nothing about 3dfx gfx cards if it is that i wouldnt know since ive never used them

Yeah that XGI is worse than your Radeon 7000 most likely, and upgrading from an AMD Duron to another AMD Duron when your motherboard can support an Athlon XP is a bad upgrade as well, even if you ar egoing from 800mhz to 1.8ghz. What's your budget?

he has a point athlon xp would be a wise upgrade higher fsb than the duron

What speed is the ram you currently have, because if its fast enough, then you might just be able to get another 512 stick to pair up for 1gb. 1GB of ram and an Athlon XP, which are going for so cheap just now, would see a fairly high performance upgrade, but it depends on how much you are willing to spend.

the ram i currently have is 256MB... and im willing to spend about 200$ for the first week at my job.

oh yeh, i thought that you had a 512 stick just now. My mistake.

I have an idea, for now just upgrade the cpu and ram with that $200. You won't be able to get anything good if you upgrade all three at the same time.

CPU:

RAM:

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=13212&vpn=KVR400X64C3A/512&manufacture=Kingston

Note that the ram will only run at pc2700 speeds because that's how high your motherboard can go, no big deal though. Those two total to $206.56. As for the video card, wait to get that, maybe in a few weeks when you have more money from your job, and you can get a real upgrade.

Yeh that looks good, I agree with bosox188, get maybe a 9800pro or something similar. Maybe even a 6600GT, but it once again depends on how much money you wish to spend.
