Need some help/advice with purchasing here...

Okay, dudes, this is the offer that's been made to me:

ATX Case
1.44 Floppy
512MB DDR 400 Ram
KT4AV
DVD 16x
Modem 56k int swann
Athlon 2400XP
ATI 9600 256 Power colour
LG 17 inch Crt

All for about AU$900. No CDRW, harddrive, etc, because I already have those...

So... how's that? I'm a bit worried about the graphics card, as I've heard that Powercolour underclocks their cards. I have a further $100 to spend, so I could probably get a 9600 pro.

Also, I would like it if someone could tell me exactly how important dual channel memory capability is.
 
How much is that in US dollars? And I would really suggest getting a 9600 Pro with 128mb memory instead, its much more worth it and shouldnt be that much more expensive. And off course, the 9600XT on top of that is even better, hehe.

Cant tell you the importance of dual channeling DDR though... Shouldnt give much of a noticeable boost for the average gamer though, mostly just for picky benchmarkers.
 
Ah, thanks. Yeah, I'll try and get a 9600 pro. Should be able to afford it.

I am worried about the Powercolour cards, though... anyone care to confirm/dispel my fears?
 
Found a thread specifically about it.

Apparently the RAM is a little slower than other brands, but that doesn't make much difference.

Anyone else heard any different?
