need some help please, phone lines getting cut off

my comp and dsl modem are both in my room, so i am on the computer a lot sometimes. usually when im not out or playin baseball im playin hl2 or somethin, but my parents are real freaks about me using the computer .. i dont know why but they are.

so im using my computer like normal, all my lights on the model are green. the next second the DSL light goes red, meaning that there is no dsl connection to the house. same thing with the phone lines in the house, everything gets cut off. I pick up the phone and dont hear a dial tone. This is everywhere in the house. I dont know what they do to make that happen, but it sure pisses me off sometimes. there is a box on the outside of the house form where the lines connect to the house, but i know they dont go all the way outside and switch it.. it seems like my parents can do this in seconds. how though?

I've tried lookin around my house for some sort of switch, but with no avail :/

follow the cable from your modem to the outside of the house. Find what lies between.

If you have the technical skill, route around it.

Once, I was helping an old lady outside with her groceries from my store and she mentioned that I was strong or whatever cause shes a weak old hag and said thankfully I have some help at home. I said "they are probably stronger than me", and she said "probably not, he sits on his computer all day, he's a geek". I responded that that is all I do too and she said "oh" and drove off.

since I work for a DSL ISP, that phone box outside is called the NID or DMARC which ever you like, if your parents are crazy enough then yes they could have done something to take down the phone service, it's possible that a pair may just need to be punched down again but if you take your modem outside and try to sync from a test jack in the NID and you don't get a green DSL light then there's no signal being broadcasted. If your phone service was cut off due to billing issues then in most cases the DSL will have to be "reordered" and the ILEC or phone company will have to put the lineshare back on your circuit, if it wasn't billing issues then there's a chance the DSL is still there but the no dial tone thing isn't cool with ADSL. Maybe you should ask your parents if they know there's no dial tone, presuming it's also you main phone line. How are you on the net now anyway? lol I could type more but im too lazy

maybe you're experiencing intermittency? lol it is possible for their to be an issue with your internet service especially with ADSL

Is your connection through a wireless router? (Do I mean router? I don't think so. One of those wireless sharing internet connection things.) I think they can be restricted at will on the main computer.
