I bought Half-Life2 [the DVD ROM one]
And i wanna install it
but my pc doenst read it :/
:flame::flame: getting angry bout it now :@
What do do?

Same thing happened to me on launch day, i went mad. Turned out my dvd drive was broken. Try differents dvd's to see if they work. If its broken you got two choices. Hold onto the game till you get a new one. Or sell the game/take it back to the shop, and buy the game through steam and download the content and play that way. (you'll need broadband for that for sure though).

EDIT: for myself i sold the game to a mate for a £2 profit and bought the game on steam, then bought a new DVD drive £2 cheaper than normal price :D

i allready had a dvd driver
and my bro watched yesterday a DvD
[is a DvD Movie same as you copy the movie on a DvD Disk? :p]

Still Thanks!

Ages back when HL2 was launched, I heard about issues with Securom protection that prevented some people from being able to even read or install the game. I thought this issue had been sorted though...could be that this is your problem?

Hunt around for "securom HL2 patch", I remember Valve and securom being under pressure to make one...I really can't remember what the outcome was or if the problem was solved, sorry.

..can't find a download :(
can you help me a bit?
Thank you!! thank you!! thank you!!!!!

I found one. Try here:

http://www.gameburnworld.com/securompatches.htm

I think you want Version 6. It's not the best website, but I think it should work.

EDIT: I noticed that Half-Life 2 isn't listed in their database. I don't know whether the above download will work now...

Can anyone verify this?

If you have a good connection, the best thing might be to input your CD Key manually and download HL2 through Steam.

Dont quite understand that one...

You mean that if you copy SOME movie (avi , mpeg, mov) on a DVD, it BECOMES a DVD? In that case, no. Or are you just plain talking about copying DVDs (Backups).

Have you tried what this dude said?

Did u try to reinstall your DVD drive drivers?
Did u check the disk for scratches?
Did u try other DVD drives to see if it's just a badd isk?
Can u share a DVD drive remotely over a network and access it from your computer that u want to install on?
