Need to reformat computer how do I save level?

Hello there, I do a reformat once every 3 months to keep my computer running as it should and since the last 3 months i bought Hl2, I want to save where I am so when I reinstall the game I can go back to where I am, any idea how I might do this?

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\[email protected]\half-life 2\hl2\SAVE and put it on a floppy disk or wherever you want.

Well close, but it's in valve not steam ...

C:\Program Files\valve\Steam\SteamApps\User\half-life 2\hl2\SAVE

You just need one file to go back where you left on the game.

Open the game, hit ~, type in the map you were at.
