The NeoTokyo team have kindly sent us some more screenshots of their soon to be released mod. They have already picked up their tools and resumed work in 2009, maintaining the dedication and effort they've put into this finely polished modification. Although I'm interested in this, I must say: All these screenshots look exactly the same to me.

They have openly said that GITS was a direct influence, if they were not trying to recreate the atmosphere directly.

Personally, on the mod itself, it just looks really unpolished. I think it all comes down to the character animations too. I think that's what's ruining it for me. Everything else looks really great. The animations simply look jarring. That said, I loved the really bass heavy, almost ambient song they made. I'll download it anyway, just for the music.
