Is there anyway to make physically modelled netting, such as a soccer net (football net for you Brits :P)? I am making a map with an enormous hockey net with enormous pucks, but I need some good quality netting. Is this possible?

just a ragdoll object much the same as a matress (only much thinner) with the edges tagged so they don't move but the middle bits do. Then give it a transparent material to look like a net. Sorted.

Yes, but this net is large. (I mean huge) Will I have to make thousands of these "ragdolls" ?

well if its so big, its unlikely to move much, since the netting will probably be made of cables and not very flexible.

And no, I think you misunderstood about the ragdoll thing

the net would be a single prop, a ragdoll like a matress, with parts of it setup not to move (those banged up cars are ragdolls, the cardboard boxes that fall apart are ragdolls)

So you'd basically have a single net object, and then a prop_static or brushes for the framework around it.
